When I grow up I want to be....

Yesterday for Preschool, we went to the fire/police station. The kids had a lot of fun playing in the fire trucks and trying on the uniforms. Damon loved getting in the big truck! The fireman jacket on Damon was longer than he is tall, and was dragging on the ground!! Unfortunately, right as we were getting the kids assigned to cars so we could leave for our fieldtrip, Damon fell off our small retaining wall out front, and scraped up his chin.... blood everywhere, and lots of crying on the way to the station! But Damon ended up having a great day.... and a great battle wound to show off!Damon's preschool class L-R: Lincoln, Savannah, Asia, Kinsley, Amelia, Damon, Sydnee, Perla, Katlyn, and Timmy.

Damon happy as a clam in the huge Fireman Jacket (Resistant up to 800 degrees of heat). And yes, it is quite heavy!

Damon's poor little scraped chin.... Luckily, he seems to have already forgotten all about his owie.

I wish my kids could go to your pre-school!

Ok so here's my new thing I'm doing.
I was wondering if you would help me out with a post I'm going to do. I'm stealing the idea from the Nie Nie dialogues http://www.nieniedialogues.blogspot.com/ . I want to do a Proc week like she did. I randomly chose you from my blog list to participate. If you do not want to participate, let me know and I'll get someone else to do it.

Ponder the Proclamation. Choose a quote from it and tell me what you and your family are doing to live that principle and why. Please send a photo to illustrate your point. Try to look for something someone else might not see - hopefully that way I'll have variety. If not, that's ok too (email it all to me within the next week).

That is awesome you are a preschool teacher! I can totally see you as one. You were always the smartest girl in our class - so I'm sure the kids will learn a lot from you! lol.

Sorry about Damon's owie - he is so cute!!

We live in Sugarhouse. Where do you guys live? We should get together!

Hi Kirstin! I got your comment on my blog. Thanks. Yes--my husband is in Iraq right now. He's been gone for 6 months today. So--we're planning (and hoping) he's back for good sometime in March (maybe April). He's in the Army Reserves and was given a 72-hour notice that he was being activated with a different unit than his own. So...it's been an adventure to say the least! :) We were living in Colorado, but after he left--I moved to AZ to be with family while he's gone. It's been really nice to be close to family during this time (we had just moved to CO not long before he left.) Anyway--it's nice to hear from other people who understand what it's like to not have your husband around. I have a question for you actually! How did you get in touch with your husband to let him know you had your baby? You'd think that would be something the Army would have a really direct answer for--but, we've kind of been given the run-around with it. My husband was told he "could" contact the Red Cross, but that was more for emergencies. So, he was given a phone number for me to call at Luke Air Force Base here in AZ and then they would connect me with someone over in Iraq (I have a DSN number for some "Chief" guy over there.) My concern is that with the time difference...what if one of the offices is closed? I've been REALLY lucky to get to talk to my husband almost every night and with the baby coming soon, he's been sure to call every day to get updates. So, I figure if all else fails, I'll at least get to talk to him every 24 hours or so. But, it'd be nice to let him know as soon as it happens, ya know? :) Anyway...now that I've written a novel...that's been a question I've had lately. You can e-mail me if that's easier. My address is brookejones13@hotmail.com Thank you so much! And, you have a beautiful family! I love the picture at the top! I'm wearing that EXACT shirt right now! :)
