Where do I go from here?

Halle is getting pretty good at getting to where she wants to go these days. Only problem....once she gets there, she isn't exactly sure how to leave to get to the next place. She will crawl up onto things, and then doesn't know how to get off of them. She will also stand under things, stuck, and not daring enough to plop her butt back down on the ground so she can crawl out. It is pretty cute seeing the little predickerments she gets herself in.
Um ya...Halle couldn't even figure out how to get off this short tub she crawled onto! Silly baby cakes.

Ha Ha....Once Again...

It happened again. I just love watching where Damon falls asleep. Last night he was playing with his truck and trailer. He was driving them around the kitchen floor, when suddenly he just laid down his entire body, and within seconds (literally) he was out cold again. As you can see he is still holding onto the truck like he is driving it around. (Don't mind the extremely dirty rug... the basement got sheetrocked yesterday...workers in and out all day long...and Damon chose the dirtiest place to lay his head down to sleep!)

I rest my case....

Just like I said a few days ago.....Kids can fall asleep ANY where at ANY time, in ANY position. Yesterday, Damon was outside playing with his new lizards, just waiting for Joe to get home from work. He had only been outside for about 5 minutes, when I looked out the window to check on him, and this is what I saw. He was asleep on the front stairs, too exhausted from his day to wait any longer for his daddy to get home. I couldn't believe he could just curl up and fall asleep on the concrete steps like that, not to mention it was 5:00 p.m. (Hot as Heck outside.) Too too cute!

Palisade...

Last weekend was The ANDERSON Family Reunion at Palisade State Park. We headed down to it after Joe got off work on Friday afternoon. It was hot and fun. Friday night, Damon headed down to the lake with cousins, without a swimming suit, and just stripped down to his diaper and headed into the water. He was freezing and soggy by the time I carried him back up to camp. Afterwards was visiting, playing games, and getting ready for bed. Halle crawled around everywhere making truck noises with her tounge, and putting any and everything in her mouth.

Joe, Damon, Halle, and I shared a tent, and all four of us ended up on what was supposed to be Joe's and mine air mattress. Halle had a hard time falling asleep due to it being so windy. She would see the leaves shadows blowing through the walls of the tent, and just wanted to "get them". The next morning, a big breakfast was cooked, along with more swimming. Joe was swimming with Damon, and nephews Kade and Conner. He was coming back to shore, dragging all three boys through the water, when he felt his wedding ring slipping off his finger, and then fall. I just heard him scream..."I lost my wedding ring". Funny thing is, on the 4th of July, I lost my wedding rings in my parents backyard as we were playing softball...lucky enough to find them 3 days later after searching on hands and knees through the whole back yard. Well, Joe, a couple of his uncles, and cousin-in-laws helped dive up and down up and down, searching for Joe's ring. After about 45 minutes of doing this in the murkey water, Joe kind of gave up. About ten minutes later, Joe's uncle Shawn yelled out.."I GOT IT". He had never given up, and even though every other guy had come to shore, Shawn kept on looking, and somehow found Joe's ring. THANKS SHAWN!

It was a fun, hot, successful family reunion. We had a blast...

COMFORTABLE???

When I went into Halle's room this morning to wake her up, this is the position I found her in. Isn't it funny the ways your children can sleep? They can fall asleep at any moment, in any amount of noise, in any position. I just giggled at her this morning!

Memory Tag....

I love this tag.

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! You can post a memory about Kirstin or Joe...we would love all or any.

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses.

The Summer is "Cruising" By.....

We have been having a pretty fun and relaxing summer just playing with our cousins lately. The other day we went down to the Mona park and had a picnic and played on the playground for a little bit. Afterwards, Damon's and Halle's cousins, Jack and Luke came over to play for the afternoon. The boys had a blast taking the 4-wheeler Power Wheels up and down the street. Jack is the oldest of the bunch, and he was the driver taking Damon, Luke, and all the little neighbor girls on rides, just cruising around like he owned the town. It was a fun time, and I appreciate Jack for being such a big help, and a great sport!

Some play hard while others well.....sleep!

YEAH!!! The new pool in Payson has finally opened up. It is a success, because it is as busy as can be and the line to get in seems like an hour long, but this week alone, we have visited the pool twice. Damon's favorite part was wearing his new life jacket and floating around the lazy river. He kicks his little legs, and I am pretty sure he thinks he is swimming and taking himself around the river, not the strong current that is actually doing it. Halle just lounged in her car floatie, and fell asleep for the afternoon. Just a relaxing day for this little 9 month old. Fresh air, sun, and cool water splashing on her feet....what more could she ask for?

Mini Me's Mohawk

Halle's hair is starting to come in a little thicker, and finally getting a little longer. The only problem is I have no idea how to do anything with it....so this is usually how she looks. Notice the tears...Poor girl...already self conscience about her faux mohawk.

My Two Tiny Cowkids....

We made a trip to the Cal-Ranch store in Spanish Fork the other day looking for a dutch oven. While there, we found cowboy hats for kids. Lately, Damon has been completely infatuated with "my boys." His boys are his cousins, Colton, Kade, Conner, and Carsen. I think his adoration of them took place in California where we had an adjoining room with them at the hotel. We would open both doors, and Damon would go play with his boys. Well, as of now he wants to be just like them. They are all little cowboys, so Damon just had to get this new cowboy hat, and he now wears it around everywhere, telling mom and dad that he is just like his boys. He loves to dance in it as he watches the family dvd's, getting so excited when he sees one of his boys. It is just adorable to see him look up to his cousins so much. Then there is Halle. She just likes to tease Damon and steal his things from him...so here she is in Damon's new cowboy hat too.
All's I have to say is that I have the two darn cutest cowboys in the world!

A nice stroll up Cascade Springs...

On the Fourth of July, we went to visit my parents in Midway. To make the drive more interesting, we decided to go through Sundance, and up over the mountain, stopping at Cascade Springs before heading down into Midway.
We stopped and walked all around the springs. Damon loved walking over the bridges and looking into the water. He would get a little mad when we would take a different route, and not go over every bridge.
It ended up being perfect weather and a great day. It was a little bit overcast which was nice, but I was still quite hot and sweaty after walking around. It was a great way to start out our day though. I love getting to do these simple things with my family. Thanks to Joe, Damon, and Halle for making the most simple things the best memories I could ask for.

A helpful two and a half year old...

Since Joe has been home, he now calls Damon his little "Mini Me" due to Damon following him around everywhere and just wanting to help and do everything Joe does. It at times can be more of a hinderance than a help, but there are those moments when it is just so darn cute that you can't help but want Damon to help out. (Those of you with toddlers know exactly what I am talking about.) Damon and Joe went to The Home Depot the other day to buy a bathtub and insulation so we can start finishing our basement. Well I came out into the garage just in time to see Damon rolling the insulation out of the back of the truck where Joe would then lift it out and stack it on the ground. Thanks for your help Damon! Talk about priceless!

The last day of the Anderson California Adventure...

Our final day of Disneyland started out with a train ride around the whole park. Damon is infatuated with trains these days, and screams "CHOO CHOO" everytime he sees one, so Joe and I figured we better at least take Damon on the train around Disneyland. After that, we devoted our last day to the kids, and spent all morning in Fantasy Land, riding all the rides that they can go on.

That evening, we got to go to a Pixar Parade and were able to get VIP seating....(thanks to those wonderful green shirts.) Damon lined up with all of his cousins front row to see all the characters. We were at the very beginning of the parade route, so we got to watch all of the floats and characters come out first. The Monsters Inc. float broke down right in front of us, and we got to watch what the parade crew does in that sort of emergency. Damon was enamored by the characters. He got to pet Dori and Nemo, and could hardly catch his breath when his favorite character, Tow Mater came driving out. Halle unfortunately slept through the entire parade. I was completely in awe at how amazing Disney is. They don't do anything just half way. The props, characters, decorations, and feeling there is just amazing.
The very end of the day, we got together with all of Joe's family and got some big group pictures. It was funny to see the looks on peoples faces when they saw all of us in the same shirts trying to bunch together to take a picture. It was a great moment, a wonderful trip, and amazing memories. Thanks to everyone in Joe's family for making it such a memorable and fun time!
